Jinti Hydropower Station Project

The project is a micro run-of-river hydro project located in a rural region in Sichuan province, China. Installed capacity is 1.6 MW. The generated electricity is supplied to the regional grid replacing fossil fuels, contributing to grid stability, diversification of national energy supply, and ensuring availability of electricity to local communities. About 8,700 t of GHG emissions are displaced yearly. The construction, operation and maintenance of the power plant and associated infrastructures provide employment and training for local people. Women in the nearby villages can now use electricity for cooking and don’t have to collect wood in the forest daily. The project developer upgraded access roads and community infrastructures, which has reduced the isolation of the villagers and facilitates their access to other villages, markets, schools and hospitals.
